Cothill House

Main House (Years 6 & 7)

The Main House is a place where boys feel secure, happy and supported.

Mr Richards

There are between 6 and 10 boys in each dorm, and life in our boarding house is vibrant, where boys can make full use of the games room, swimming pool, indoor hall and the surrounding woods to enjoy many fun activities in the evenings.

Boys also have to chance to relax, rest or chat to their friends in the dorms should they wish. They learn to be kind, independent, tolerant and respectful of each other while sharing experiences, achievement and making lifelong friendships.

Boys are responsible for packing away their own clothes, making sure their dorms are tidy and that chores and duties are completed before going to bed, teaching them valuable life skills which allows them to leave as disciplined, responsible and well-rounded young men.

Every week, dorms compete for points and the winning dorm receives their prize during the house meeting on a Sunday evening. The matrons choose a ‘boarder of the week’, who receives a trophy and a prize for being respectful, helpful and caring towards other boys.

On Sundays, there are many trips and activities which the House Master enjoys with the boys, from ice-skating, bowling, pizza and dumpling making, mini golf, fishing, laser-tag, cinema, trampoline park, human table football, Spikeball and many more exciting adventures and games.
